Norm Weiss is the Founder of NWA and has over 45 years of professional experience. He formerly served as Assistant Agency Director with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) where he directed statewide programs for hazardous waste, emergency response, and toxic site remediation. Prior to opening NWA, approximately 30 years ago, Norm served as a Managing Senior for two national environmental consulting firms. He holds several professional designations and is a Certified Environmental Manager in Nevada. 


He is also a Lead Seminar Instructor at the Ira Fulton Schools of Engineering, at Arizona State University where he provides professional development training for HAZWOPER, Hazardous Waste (RCRA), and DOT Hazardous Materials. At NWA, Norm’s primary focus is maintaining oversight and strategic direction for the Company. He provides expert consultant compliance services, audits and training for clients and supports the mentoring and development of NWA consultants.

Karika has worked with the firm since 2009. She is Manager of NWA Operations and a Senior Consultant with experience managing multi-media compliance programs in large manufacturing facilities. Programs include Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know, Chemical Management and Audits, Hazardous Waste Leak Detection & Repair, Industrial Wastewater Sampling, Clean Air Act Compliance, Trip Reduction Programs, and Hazard Assessments for Process Equipment Decontamination Approvals. 


As Operations Manager, Karika manages NWA workflow, NWA Operational Procedures, Quality Control and Assurance, Proposals, and Marketing. Karika has performed extensive scientific research on topics including: water treatment, materials science, U.N. Minamata Convention on Mercury, and emergency communications. A skilled technical writer, Karika has authored and co-authored numerous published scientific articles and technical reports.

Gav joined the NWA Team in 2023 and serves as a Consultant & Environmental Health & Safety Compliance Manager for NWA. Gav is a licensed Professional Engineer in Arizona with over 10 years of experience in wastewater and hazardous waste compliance experience. At NWA, Gav has completed EHS Compliance Audits, Hazardous Waste Tank System Certifications, Assisted Clients in the Reclassification of Hazardous Waste to Hazardous Secondary Materials, Certified Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasure Plans, Assisted Clients in Addressing EHS Compliance Needs, Provides Hazardous Waste Training, and Maintains Oversight for NWA Compliance Programs. Gav was previously a Hazardous Waste Permit Writer and Pollution Prevention Engineering Specialist with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. 


As a former Regulator, Gav focused on compliance at hazardous waste management facilities, minimization of hazardous waste generation, recycling of hazardous waste, and recordkeeping improvements. Gav also worked as an Assistant Teaching Professor at Arizona State University in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.

Tommy Lowe joined NWA in 2023 and currently serves as a Consultant and Field Service Lead. In this role, Tommy oversees compliance programs that address a range of environmental and safety requirements, including RCRA (Hazardous Waste) BB & CC Leak Detection & Repair, Wastewater Sampling, Stormwater Dry Well Inspections and Reporting, and the development and implementation of Hazardous Materials Management Plans.


. With more than 12 years of experience in the industrial sector, Tommy brings a wealth of expertise to the NWA team. His previous position as an Industrial Chemistry Lab Manager in the metal finishing industry involved serving clients in the aerospace, medical, automotive, and military fields. Throughout his career, Tommy has worked closely with compliance and safety departments to implement new products and processes, ensuring that all initiatives fully comply with government regulations and industry specifications. He has experience Managing Hazardous Chemicals and Chemical Inventory Data and has been part of an Emergency Response Team. Tommy also has expertise in troubleshooting chemical manufacturing processes, laboratory instrumentation, and wastewater characterization.
